The Chinese market regulator said on Monday that Nvidia had violated the country’s anti-monopoly law, according to a preliminary investigation, adding that Beijing would continue its investigation into the American flea giant.
Nvidia’s shares have dropped by around 2% in the market prior to the market.
At the end of last year, China Administration for Market Regulations (SAMR) opened an investigation into Nvidia in relation to the acquisition of Mellanox and certain agreements concluded during the acquisition. Nvidia acquired the Israeli technology company which creates network solutions for data centers and servers in 2020, in an agreement approved by China at the time with certain conditions.
In a preliminary survey, the SAMR said that Nvidia had violated the anti-monopoly laws of China concerning this acquisition and its conditions.
