Olympic runner Moh Ahmed joins the call to cancel the Davis Cup tie of Canada with Israel

The Olympian quadruple Moh Ahmed is one of the 413 Canadian signatories calling for tennis in Canada to cancel the Davis Cup in Canada with Israel in Halifax in September.
Ahmed, a runner from St. Catharines, Ontario, who won a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games, signed a letter that supervises on September 12 to equality of the Davis Cup in the background of what he calls the condemnation of the conviction of Israel to Gaza and in the Center-Western, citing legal scholars and human rights groups The Palelian.
The note of signatories Canada has already sanctioned the High Israeli Ministers of the Cabinet Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir-a decision which reflected the actions of the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Norway-and affirms that it would be “inadmissible” to continue the competition.
Among the signatories are three special rapporteurs of the United Nations, two Palestinian national football players now at the University of York and Hernan Humana, former Olympic Volley-Volley coach and current York professor.
The letter quotes athletes elsewhere who refused to face Israeli opponents and urges national sports organizations to prevent Canadians from competing against Israelis in any international event.
He declared that sport had historically been used to promote the national feeling linked to both “genocide” and the dismantling of “apartheid states”, adding “it is an important moment for Sport Canada and Tennis Canada to promote social justice and stand on the right side of history”.
Tennis Canada did not immediately respond to comment.

The last time Canada organized Davis Cup equality in Halifax, it was in 2016 when it swept the Chile 5-0.
The Canadians beat Israel 3-2 at their last meeting, equality in 2011 played in Ramat Hasharon.
