The annual shower of Perseid meteors has crossed the night sky across the United Kingdom and worldwide in the last nights.

The brilliant meteors are formed when the dust particles fall from the rapid comet and burn by entering the earth’s atmosphere.

Astro Dog astronomers, a small astronomy company based in Scarborough, captured the North York Moors National Park event at its peak on August 13.

To maximize their chances of filming the sparkling show, they used a camera with a “very sensitive sensor and a large opening” which was pointed at 45 degrees from the “radiant point” – “where the meteors seem to shine”.

According to Astro Dog, there is still a chance to reach an overview or a video of the Perseids because they will be active until August 24.
