Power Nissanka’s Century Powers Sri Lanka in the Odi series Win on Zimbabwe

Sri Lanka recorded a five -track victory over Zimbabwe in the second ODI of the Sri Lanka Tour du Zimbabwe 2025held at the Harare Sports Club Sunday. With the victory, visitors also took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ODI series of three games.
Chasing a goal of 278, Sri Lanka rose to a magnificent century of Pathum Nissanka, who was rightly appointed the game player.
The total battles of Zimbabwe built on Ben Curran and Sikandar Raza
First put to beat, Zimbabwe posted a competitive 277/7/7 in 50 Overs. The opener Ben Curran anchored the sleeves with a 79 well -designed bullets, while Sikandar Raza continued his beautiful shape with a lively act of 59 deliveries, including five four and six.
The veteran Brendan Taylor (20) and the Skipper Sean Williams (20) participated in useful contributions, while Clive Madande (36 out of 36) provided late fireworks.
Sri Lanka’s bowling attack was led by Dushmantha Chameera, who recovered 3/52 in his 10 Overs. Asitha Fernando (2/67) and Dilshan Madushanka (1/57) also struck at key moments to keep Zimbabwe in check.

In response, Sri Lanka started with caution after losing Nuwanidu Fernando (14) and the Kusal skipper Mendis (5) early. However, Pathum Nissanka anchored the sleeves with a sublime 122 out of 136 bullets, prevented from 16 limits.
He received solid support from Charith Asalanka, whose 71 of 61 current bullets firmly moved the momentum in favor of Sri Lanka. A late cameo by Janith Liyanage (19 out of 16) assured visitors the crossing of the line with three balls to lose, ending at 278/5 in 49.3 Overs.
For Zimbabwe, Richard Ngarava (2/53) and Brad Evans (2/54) were the out of competition, while Ernest Masuku (1/32) provided a key breakthrough.

Game player
The Masterclass of Pathum Nissanka at the top of the Order was the decisive factor of the prosecution. Its ability to absorb the pressure, run the shot and punish loose deliveries allowed Sri Lanka to lose control of the game.

Having already won the first ODI by 7 points, Sri Lanka sealed the 2-0 series of two games with a complete victory in the second match.
The tour is now going in the shortest format, with the first T20i scheduled for Wednesday, September 3 at the Harare Sports Club.
