“ Reading Rainbow ” is back, this time without ‘Star Trek’ Legend Levar Burton

Just like the original hosted by Levar Burton Reading Rainbow Provided generations with an imaginative world avenue in children’s books, the new restart continues the heritage to give children access to essential educational content.
During the weekend, Kidzuko (operated by Sony Studios) and the official Reading Rainbow YouTube Channel presented the first episode of the restart of the internet generation. Now hosted by the Internet librarian, Mychal Threets, who has gained popularity of social media thanks to the content intended to devote libraries as important spaces of community construction, the renewal could not have arrived at a more crucial moment.
The first episode includes appearances of Ebon Moss-Bacharach (The Fantastic Four: First steps) and Jamie Chung (Batman: Caped Crusader) where actors read children and sometimes even cats with the rescue! Seeing comic strip actors look at the premise of the new show could completely inspire children to look for more of their works in pop culture by finding a love for comics. The presence of Levar Burton as a teacher in houses across America inspired a generation of readers, but also introduced many of us to his important works in various genres, especially Star Trek: The next generation.
A lot Hiking Fans will remember Reading RainbowStrong history with the series, thanks to Burton’s mandate as a host and as TngGeordi storage. Reading Rainbow even played this connection at certain times, in particular by even broadcasting an episode which took its audience behind the scenes of The next generation (You can watch it here, and it’s so wild to see Burton on the bridge without the visor of Geordi). Alongside the books organized to adapt to teamwork themes, the episode presented the Star Trek The collaboration of the crew and was such a formative way for children to fall in love with television production. It really helped young minds to see that they could also make the life of science fiction and send for life Reading Rainbowthe young audience in the direction of Star Trek– One of the first attempts in the series to raise younger fans thanks to family -oriented entertainment.
However, it is not by far the only one. Of course, there was Star Trek: the animated seriesBut more recently, Hiking tried to call on families and young people more directly than by association, as did with the old Reading Rainbow. Star Trek: Prodigy I wanted to reject new young viewers with the programs that their parents watched the growing thanks to his use of characters inherited like Captain Janeway. More recently, Paramount has launched an educational program for children, Star Trek scoutsOn Youtube. But Reading Rainbow And the Burton special remains one of the most popular ways Hiking has filled this gap. It was so important for children to explore the daily life of actors, writers, directors, special effects and make -up artists like an adult without talking to them.
With guests like the star of Marvel Studios Moss-Bachrach and other eminent personalities of pop culture lending their time to the new show, it would also be cool to see this type of connection continue with the books presented. For me, my love for writing on fantasy and monsters went from books to stories like Maurice Sendak Where wild things arethat I discovered for the first time Read Rainbow. I am therefore delighted to see how literary work will be presented to create new various ways so that children are creative and find belonging to such an uncertain world.
The original house of Reading RainbowPBS made the headlines because the current administration apparently attacked the budget provided to the public media supported by the Bipartisan. NPR reports that the decision directly affects stations, because legislators have adopted legislation to “eliminate all federal funding for public broadcasting for the next two years”, which included $ 1.1 billion which was previously approved to financially cultivate the content, as these stations have done for decades with educational programs such as Reading Rainbow, Sesame Street, Wishbone, and countless others.
The Trump administration’s repeated attempt to cut these avenues of knowledge testifies to a broader decline against the entertainment studios which defined several parts of the agenda of the second term, including pressures of pressure to capitulate the anti-dei and inclusion, as well as threats of tariffs on the films made abroad, which makes it more difficult to produce stories that it can judge against prudent beliefs. Target places where programs like Sesame Street are only more and more deliberate. At least similar to the new Reading Rainbow,, Sesame Street Recently found a new online house by moving a large part of its catalog of seasons on YouTube to continue to inspire children’s love for learning, reading and counting – just as I was all these years ago thanks to the work of Burton, so I hope that the next generation will be bed by three.
