Rohit Sharma, dressed in a stylish suit, sat between Team India legends Sachin Tendulkar and Ajinkya Rahane at the event. In a viral video on social media from the event, a young fan, wearing a Team India jersey, approached Rohit to ask for his autograph, ignoring the likes of Tendulkar and Rahane.

Rohit signed the young batsman and punched him. However, the fan ignored it with his hands and ran away, leaving Rohit embarrassed for a while. Ajinkya Rahane found it funny and laughed. A few minutes later, the same fan came back and finally gave Rohit the much-awaited punch.

In a video shared by MCA on X, Rohit Sharma expressed the importance of Wankhede Stadium in his cricketing journey. He remembered the charm of the old stadium when he first played there. Sharma emphasized how the venue also commemorates Indian cricket, Mumbai Indians, and MCA.

“When I first played, the old stadium … had its own charm. And now, you know, this place has special memories of Indian cricket, Mumbai Indians, and the cricket of the Mumbai Cricket Association. So I just wish you all the best for the years to come.” . And hopefully, we can make more memories in this place,” he said.

The 37-year-old, a native of Maharashtra, has spent his entire domestic career with the Mumbai state team. He has also represented Mumbai Indians in the IPL since 2011. Rohit has led both his home team and Mumbai Indians in his career.
