Russia does not intend to attack the states of the EU or NATO, says the Minister of Foreign Affairs

Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov said that his country did not intend to attack the EU or NATO member states, but warned of a “decisive response” to any “assault” directed towards Moscow.
In a large -scale speech pronounced on Saturday at the United Nations General Assembly, Lavrov said that threats against Russia by Western countries became “increasingly common”.
He also targeted Israel, saying that if Russia condemned the attacks of October 7, 2023 by Hamas, there was “no justification” for the “brutal killings” of the Palestinians in Gaza, or to annex the West Bank.
Israel previously said that its Gaza operation was necessary to overcome Hamas.
According to the Hamas Ministry of Health, at least 65,926 people were killed by Israeli strikes, while around 1,200 people were killed and 251 others were taken hostage during the October 7 attacks.
He decreed the Israeli aggression towards other countries of the Middle East which threatened to “explode” the region.
Israel used its mission to eliminate Hamas to justify air strikes on other countries in the Middle East, including Qatar.
On Iran, Lavrov accused the Western powers of sabotaging diplomacy after a last -minute offer led by Russia and China to delay the sanctions that failed on Friday. The Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs said that this decision was “illegal”.
Sanctions should come into force at 00 GMT on Sunday.
Speaking of tensions in Europe, Lavrov said: “Threats of force against Russia, accused of practically planning an attack on the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) and the European Union, are increasingly common. President Putin has demystified on several occasions.
“Russia has never had and has no such intentions, but any assault against my country will be greeted by a decisive response.”
Moscow denied its responsibilities after Denmark said the drones had been transported by plane to its airports. Denmark itself said that incidents seemed to be the work of a “professional actor” but that there was no evidence of Russian involvement.
Meanwhile, Estonia accused Russia of having violated its airspace with war planes, while a NATO air defense mission has recently been carried out in Poland as part of an allied response to Russian drone incursions in Polish air space.
US President Donald Trump went so far as to say that NATO countries are expected to shoot Russian planes in their airspace, while NATO itself warned that it would use “all of the necessary military and non-military tools” to defend itself following recent military incursions.
Trump also seemed to move his position on the Russian war with Ukraine, saying this week that kyiv can “win all of Ukraine in its original form”.
Lavrov approached Saturday to the American-Russian relationship in his speech, saying: “In the approaches of the current American administration, we see a desire not only to contribute to means of realistically resolving the Ukrainian crisis, but also a desire to develop pragmatic cooperation without adopting an ideological position.”
In a new criticism of the West, Lavrov questioned the calendar of recent recognition of certain countries, including the United Kingdom and France, of a Palestinian State – saying that it seemed that they had waited so long because they hoped “there would be no more and nothing to recognize”.
