Smartwatches recalled for caught fire, burn your hands

Altafit AF28 smart watches were recalled, according to a press release from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. The problem? Watches can overheat their chargers and even ignite in flames.
Smart watches were sold on the home sales network from March 2025 to May 2025 for $ 50, marked at $ 100. There were 39 reports on the melting, burning and firing watches with at least six reports on the hands of burnt consumers with material damage. And everything is attributed to the wireless load pavement of the smartwatch.
The watches were manufactured in China and imported into the United States by Deale International LLC, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The AF28 Altafit was sold on HSN.com as a smartwatch that looked like a jewel while having all the latest SmartWatch features.
“Consumers should immediately disconnect the SmartWatch load block and stop invoicing the recalled smartwatch,” the CPSC said in a statement published online. “Consumers can contact Deale International to obtain instructions on how to receive a free replacement. Consumers will be invited to cut the power cable from the non-kicked load pavement and send an email to a photo of the load cushion with the cut cable (protected by e-mail). ”
Screen measurements 1.68 inches and the watch came with two bands, Bejeweled and Mesh. The versatility of having something that was not “too sporty” for “an evening” was an important part of marketing, according to promotional videos published on YouTube.

“He’s the one who will do whatever we want an intelligent watch,” said HSN host in a video. “Same bed your oxygen levels, your sleep, your heart rate, all the different sporting modes that we love from the yoga race through the bicycle, and you can get credit for all.
The host then explained that the watch is “water resistant IP67, and you can even receive your phone calls, SMS, you get application notifications, and this is only the beginning of it.” The watch was billed as being able to measure blood pressure, although intelligent watches are notoriously bad for this.
The watch was not really on Gizmodo’s radar until we saw the recall notice, and it seems that the company sold only about 2,900 of them. But now we are curious to know how he worked. Did you have an AF28 Altafit? How did it work? Hoping that if you have one, it has not caught fire and you can get your refund.
