Survey on the “horrible” death of French streamer


An investigation was launched in the death of a French streamer known for his extreme challenges.
Raphaël Graven, also known as JeanPormanove, was found dead in a storytelling residence, a village north of Nice, said prosecutors.
The 46 -year -old man was the subject of violence and sleep deprivation crises during the streams and died in his sleep during a live program, local media reported.
Confirming that a judicial investigation was underway, the Minister of the French Government Clara Chappaz described the death and violence of Mr. Graven that he endured as an “absolute horror”, adding that he had been “humiliated” for months.
A Kick spokesperson – A live broadcasting platform similar to Twitch, on which users can disseminate content and interact with other real -time users – told BBC that the company examined “urgently” circumstances around the death of the streamer.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of JeanPormanove and expose our condolences to his family, his friends and his community,” they said.
The community directives of the platform were “designed to protect creators” and Kick was “determined to maintain these standards on our platform,” added the spokesperson.
Chappaz, the Minister Delegate for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies, said that she had referred the question to Arcom, the French media regulator, and Pharos, a French system used to report online content.
Sarah El Haïry, the High Commissioner France for children, described the death of “horrible”.
“Platforms have immense responsibility in the regulation of online content so that our children are not exposed to violent content. I call parents to be extremely vigilant,” she wrote on X.
The prosecutor’s office confirmed that he had opened an investigation into the cause of death and ordered an autopsy, reports the AFP news agency.
JeanPormanove had more than a million followers on his various social media platforms and had built a strong community on Kick.
One of his co-creators, Naruto, announced the death of JeanPormanove on Instagram and paid tribute to his “brother, Acolyte, partner”, and asked people to “respect” his memory and to republish any clips showing him dead or unconscious.
Owen Cenazandotti, another French streamer who appeared alongside Mr. Graven in his recent streaming marathon, asked the followers not to share videos of his “last breath” in an article on Instagram.
