Sydney ‘Night Stalker’ pleads guilty of chain of sexual assault in the 90s

A 61 -year -old man pleaded guilty of several sexual assaults against women in Sydney in the early 1990s after the police broke out in a three decades cold.

Glenn Gary Cameron was arrested at Sydney International Airport last February after detectives examined unresolved cases using modern DNA and fingerprint technologies.

Cameron has now admitted more than a dozen accusations, including 11 aggravated sexual chiefs using a weapon as a threat, for attacks against eight women between 1991 and 1993.

Nicknamed “Night Stalker” by Sydney and the “Moore Park Rapist” in the reports at the time, Cameron should be sentenced next month.

After its arrest at last year’s airport, Cameron’s identity was deleted due to a declaration prohibition. He was lifted three months later.

Of the 36 offenses he was accused, he pleaded guilty at 13 on Tuesday when he appeared before the local Downing Center in Sydney via a video link.

According to Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), nine accusations have been withdrawn and the remaining 14 accusations will be taken into account during its conviction.

The latter include multiple accusations of indecent assault, aggravated sexual assault and a person’s detention for advantage.

One of the women attacked by Cameron, decades ago has made decades in legal proceedings, the ABC reported.

A 1993 article in the Sydney Morning Herald (SMH) newspaper, which was tightly covered in the wave of attacks, the victims were mainly Asian women, aged 17 to 45.

The article allegedly alleged that the attacker – who knew simple sentences in Cantonese – targeted many of his victims near the stations and deceived them with the offer of false jobs. He would then attack them in knife, usually at night.

The first attack took place in April 1991, reported the SMH, in the interior-west suburbs of Strathfield, with other attacks in Moore park in the east suburbs.
