The NFL playoffs got off to a hot start on a hot afternoon in Kansas City. But the heat was mostly on the Houston Texans’ line as tempers flared early in a high-scoring series against the reigning champions. Super Bowl Chiefs Championship.

Television cameras showed the Texans defensive back Kris Boyd nearly kicked Houston special teams coach Frank Ross just before the opening kickoff.

The Texans punted the ball to the Chiefs to start the game. Chiefs punter Nikko Remigio threw the ball and quickly ran past some of the Texans’ would-be defenders.

Soon Remigio hit the outside and ran towards the end. But, Boyd eventually caught him and stripped him of the ball.

He then ran to the Texans sideline and celebrated the miss by ripping off his helmet and sending it to the bench. However, there was one obvious problem – the Chiefs recovered.

Boyd pushed Ross aside.

The 28-year-old was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct for removing his helmet.

The Texans advanced to the playoffs on Saturday after a fumble Los Angeles Chargers rather than around last week.

Houston entered Saturday’s game against the Chiefs as the underdog but went into halftime with just seven points. The third quarter ended with Kansas City leading 13-12.

The winner of the game at Arrowhead Stadium will await the results of Sunday’s other AFC games between the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo’s wages.
