The entire American-mexico border wall will be painted black to make it warmer and more difficult to climb, said the interior security secretary Kristi Noem, attributing the idea to Donald Trump.

While detention and interior deportations were the main objective of the current immigration repression, Trump’s political bill adopted earlier this summer also allocated $ 46 million (34 million pounds sterling) for the construction of additional walls.

According to Noem, about half a thousand (0.8 km) of Wall rises every day along the border of almost 2,000 miles (3,218 km).

The number of border passages has dropped in recent months, and the Trump administration indicates that scanning its arrests and detentions acts as a means of deterrence with illegal migration.

Addressing journalists along a section from the border to New Mexico, Noem said on Tuesday that black painting was “specifically at the president’s request”.

“(He) understands that in hot temperatures here, when something is painted in black, it becomes even warmer and it will make people even more difficult for people to climb,” she added.

Officials of the border patrol also say that black paint will help prevent the rust wall.

In addition, Noem said that the administration planned to install more “water -of -water infrastructure” along the Rio Grande, which represents more than half of the border between the two countries.

Although Noem has not provided more details on these projects, the Texas authorities have already installed floating barriers – large orange buoys – and a fortified river fence guarded by state soldiers, local police and the Texas National Guard along the parts of the river.

The level passages and the detentions of undocumented immigrants have dropped since Trump returned to the office, with record hollows of around 4,600 in July and 6,000 in June – a reduction of 92% in annual sliding.

During the Biden administration, detentions sometimes increased to 6,000 per day.

Earlier in August, Noem said that a total of 1.6 million undocumented immigrants left the United States in the first 200 days of the Trump administration, although it did not specify how expelled and how much.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said a total of 300,000 undocumented immigrants in August has been detained in the United States since January.

While the administration continues to say that it prioritizes people with criminal history, the defenders of immigration warned that many without criminal accusations or only minor offenses have been taken in the sweeping.

White House officials also argue that the increase in border security and mass deportations have been means of deterrence, saying that they are the main reason for falling figures on the American-Mexican border.
