Earlier this summer, Hasbro seduced the SDCC with an exclusive Star Wars Celebration of two packs Revenge of the Sith20th anniversary. The good news is that if you just want the inclusive figures of Anakin and Obi-Wan, they arrive. The bad news is … Well, you lose a lot in the process if you have missed the set now wrapped.

During the weekend at Fan Expo Canada, Hasbro confirmed that the figures from the newly updated black series of Anakin and Obi-Wan which were published for the first time in the exclusively exclusively SDCC pack earlier this summer will receive standard retail sales later this year. Presented at retail for $ 25, the new figures Anakin and Obi-Wan are each with their respective lasers, and … that’s it.

Now don’t get me wrong; as they are undoubtedly some of the best versions of the Revenge of the Sith The versions of these characters have never done. The new idiots are fantastic; The plastic material of their Jedi tunics no longer interferes with the improved amplitude of motion given by the butterfly shoulder joints updated, so that your Jedi can really hold their Laser in both hands. He took more than a decade of figures from the black series –Revenge of the Sith The versions of Obi-Wan and Anakin were among the very first ones of the Black Series line, freeing the year that made its debut in 2013-and there were many anakins and obi-wans in various forms at that time, but it is great that the 20th anniversary of the film delivers this iteration of the characters the characters they deserve.

And yet … you are really are Lose much more compared to the two original pack. Even beyond the massive display parts of the Mustafarian lava platforms (and this poor anakin droid dragged around the lava flowed in the film), the SDCC pack with two hands came with alternative hands to recreate Anakin and Obi-Wan pushing against each other with the force and the alternative parts of the Laser to create the effect of the median motion. There was even a small, clever “clash” room in which you could immerse yourself with the blades to make it look like a lightning of light while the sabers fought on each other. I had the chance to seize the set earlier this month and I had a lot of fun fleeing with them – not just because the figures are great, but for all the extras with which they came:

Perhaps the greatest loss, however, are the two alternative heads that have been included. GOOD, A More than the other: the head of Obi-Wan worn at the battle was great, but it was also a more difficult obi-wan with his hair that is not as impeccably hailed. The alternative Anakin Head, on the other hand, was full on his descent into the dark side made manifest – a good head Vader, with orange eyes and angry look to correspond and perhaps in fact the best vision of Hasbro on Hayden Christensen so far. In 2014, the first Revenge of the Sith Anakin came with a similar head, so why could autonomous release not do the same all these years later?

Make no mistake, losing as many extras, you also get two large figures for much cheaper. It’s $ 50 for anakin and autonomous obi-Wan compared to $ 110 $ from the SDCC; A fairly fair compromise, in particular with the display parts of the platform constituting the major part of this additional price. And this means, from the point of view of certain collectors, that the exclusive SDCC ensemble remains more “exclusive” (regardless of the fact that they sold it online also during the Convention). But would a value have really been lost if the regular versions of these figures came at least with the alternative heads? In the era of pricing uncertainty, would that have been too much to compensate for the current standard prices of the Black series, or would it have made the SDCC sufficiently “special”?

At the end of the day, at least all those who missed or who did not want to pay the high price during Comic-Con can always get the bits that really count: the figures themselves. The new Black Anakin and Obi-Wan series will appear in pre-order tomorrow, August 26, from 1 p.m. He at Hasbro Pulse and other retailers.
