The British MP is pressure for Levy play products to collect funds to combat the poverty of children

The British MP for Barrow and Furness, Michelle Scrogham, puts pressure on a harmful online gaming products to finance the fight against children’s poverty.
Michella Scrogham works with more than 100 labor deputies across the country to bring the levy to the Chancellor of the chessboard Rachel Reeves, in order to introduce the new policy in the fall budget, which should be delivered on November 26. The proposal is intended for a levy on online gaming products, announcing income to help meet children’s damage and related damage.
“We propose this policy as a means of repairing the relatively light taxation of online games of chance, supporting our common objectives to provide sustainable public finances in parallel with the improvement of public health results”, reads a letter from the deputies to the Chancellor. “Such a policy would support the government’s manifesto to reduce game -related damage and allow vital measures to reduce the poverty of children.”
This marks a different approach to the recent treasure proposal to merge the tax treatment of the distance game in a single duty from Paris and play (RBGD).
“The parliamentary group of the reform of games of chance and others have submitted answers to the warning against the proposed harmonization,” said the letter. “The treatment of all distance play activities under a single obligation does not reflect well -established differences in risks and damage.”
A sample focused on online game
MPs stressed that 4.3 million children in the United Kingdom (almost one in three) live in poverty. Revenues generated by the increase in levy on online games could help reduce this number, online games currently imposed at a rate lower than in other countries.
“An online game tax – calibrated to reflect both profit and damage – offers exactly that: a credible, fair and immediate source of income,” concludes the letter. “This would point out to the government a seriousness at the origin of budgetary responsibility with social justice and is committed to fighting poverty not only with words, but with action.”
