It’s always a shame to see a player who has progressed through the youth ranks leave for pastures new, but if Garnacho wants to leave, Amorim shouldn’t stand in his way.

The Argentinian has shown impressive credentials in a United shirt, earning praise for his “fantastic” performance against Aston Villa from journalist Michael Plant a year ago.

The left-back has scored three Premier League goals this season, but has not been able to cement his place in the starting XI, often used as a substitute, after failing to perform well since last season.

Therefore, Man United should be looking to invest in Garnacho this month, and raising the £59m fee for his sale would allow them to bring in a top-class heir apparent that fits well with Amorim’s plans.
