The exposure to tuberculosis in the community invites the Casino in northern California to issue an opinion

The Creek Casino Resort cache, based in the Capay Valley in California, has published a health notice after a case of contagious tuberculosis has been identified in the community.
The message was shared “by abundance of prudence” and “alignment on the advice of California Department of Public Health”.
“A case of contagious tuberculosis (TB) has been identified in our community. In collaboration with Public Health Managers of the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency, Cache Creek Casino Resort staff are tracing contacts to identify and inform people who may have had close contact with the assigned person.
“The health authorities define close contact as having cumulative exposure of at least eight hours to the individual with TB.”
People identified will be contacted directly and evaluated for tuberculosis infection, indicates the opinion.
Tuberculosis has increased in the United States
This occurs after being reported earlier in the year in March, that tuberculosis cases are increasing in the United States and worldwide. One of the recent epidemics started in January 2024 in Kansas City, Kansas, and two neighboring counties.
“Station guests: Please consult your health care provider, especially if you have a compromised immune system or underlying health problems,” the Casino Resort said in the press release.
“Employees: Contact the Cacer Creek Society Service or your primary care provider for additional advice, especially if you have a compromised immune system or underlying health problems.
“We remain attached to the health and safety of our guests, employees and community. Thank you for your cooperation. “
The contagious infection mainly affects the lungs and is caused by a bacteria known as Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It can be transmitted when a person with an active TB case coughs, sneezes or speaks when others are nearby.
Symptoms of an active and contagious tuberculosis case may include a cough that lasts three weeks or more, chest pain or a cough of blood. Other symptoms could include weakness or fatigue, weight loss, chills, fever, loss of appetite or perspiration at night.
