The first lady of Turkey, Ermine Erdogan, urges Melania Trump on the children of Gaza

The first lady of Turkey urged Melania Trump to talk about children suffering from the War of Israel in Gaza.
Emine Erdogan congratulated the support of the American first lady to children affected by the large -scale invasion of Ukraine Russia, asking Trump to “extend the plea” to the Palestinians.
In a letter published by the Turkish presidency on Saturday, Erdogan said that Gaza had become a “children’s cemetery”, telling Ms. Trump: “We have to unite our voices and our strength against this injustice.”
This occurs while unwanted food security experts have evaluated half a million people suffering from famine in Gaza City – and 132,000 children are threatened by malnutrition.
“The expression” unknown baby “writes on the shrouds of thousands of Gazan children opens irreparable injuries in our conscience,” wrote Ms. Erdogan.
The letter calls on Ms. Trump to “show the same sensitivity to Gaza that you showed to Ukrainian children who have lost their life in war”.
Erdogan also encouraged Ms. Trump to use Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directly to “end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza”.
The first Turkish lady is not generally involved in politics, most often choosing to be active in environmental issues – which has earned her praise from the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
But Erdogan wrote letters to the partners of the world leaders in the past, in 2016 in the name of the Syrians caught in the civil war and condemning the actions of Israel in Gaza in March.
The letter was published following an overwhelming report on the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The classification report for the integrated food security phase (IPC) has confirmed a famine in and around Gaza City – warning that more than 640,000 people will face “catastrophic conditions” between mid -August and at the end of September.
In the Friday report, the IPC noted that specific food shortages had taken shortages on children – about one in three in Gaza is acute malnutricity.
It also provides that until June 2026, malnutrition will threaten the lives of 132,000 children under the age of five.
The Ministry of Health managed by Hamas said 112 of the 273 people who died of malnutrition were children.
Israel denies that there is famine in Gaza. He also accuses IPC experts of being biased, modifying his famine assessment methods and using data from Hamas. The IPC rejected this criticism.
The report arises while Israel is preparing to launch a new military offensive aimed at occupying the city of Gaza.
The Israeli army launched a campaign in Gaza in response to the attack by Hamas against southern Israel on October 7, 2023, during which around 1,200 people were killed and 251 others were taken hostage.
At least 62,122 people have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the Hamas Ministry of Hamas in the territory.
Most of the Gaza population has also been moved several times; It is estimated that more than 90% of the houses are damaged or destroyed; And health, water, sanitation and hygiene systems collapsed.
