LEGO has been threatening the last Star Wars Fans portfolios with a star of complete death Diorama. But just like the Empire itself after the Battle of Yavin, the brick manufacturer brings the battle station larger than ever … and that includes its price, as well as its number of parts.

This morning, Lego finally revealed the plans of its last set of entirely armed and operational stars – but not entirely spherical. Building on 9,023 pieces (more than double the number of parts in the whole of 2016, which sold $ 500), the new display part changes compared to the previous Dioramas of Lego’s death to reproduce the station as a 30 inch wide disk and 10 inches deep. Like the previous whole, this star Slice of Death is full of vignettes based on the first and second stars of death as we see in A new hope And Return of the Jedi.

The familiar scenes include, of course, the waste compactor, the princess Leia detention block, the tractor beam supply generator, the meeting room for imperial command, battery control for the main laser of the death star, and the Emperor’s throne room (with Luke and Vader to do so).

There is also a small meditation room for Dark Vader, based on the Executor In The Empire retreatsAnd even a fairly large hangar, with an imperial building shuttle. Running in the diorama, connecting all the floors together, is a series of elevators, each with sliding doors (and, let’s say, perfect for people to have a prisoner transfer).

In addition to all this, the new death star includes 38 figurines – almost double the amount included in the 2016 whole. Alongside icons like Vader, the Emperor, Luke, Han (both in their Stormtrooper disguise and its regular forms, and in the case of Luke, a third version of itself in its Return of the Jedi Gear), Chewie, 3PO and Leia, the whole includes deep cuts like Sim Aloo, one of the advisers of the emperor of Return of the Jedi; Admiral Motti, General Tagge and Admiral Yularen A new hopeReunion scene; and even a whirlpool soldier, inspired by the Easter egg of the Lego Star Wars Games. There are even two Snape One Figures for the display base, representing their crucial role in the construction of the first death star: Orson Krennic and Galen Erso.

Everything is certainly very impressive, but Star Wars Fans will undoubtedly relieve several of the most controversial decisions here. The first is the price: the new death star is the most expensive ensemble that Lego has ever made, with $ 1,000 over $ 1,000 – $ 150 more than the last record holder, the UCS AT -AT Walker released in 2021 (UCS 2017 Millennium Falcon Also sells $ 850, with IT and AT-AT at retail at $ 800 before an increase in prices in recent years).

There is also the format of the model itself. A more flat form (but always reasonably thick) can make this new death of death easier to display than the complete sphere of death stars – even if it is always absolutely massive-But when you ask fans more money than they have never spent before in a single set before, even if it is more than twice the number of pieces in the last set, the fact that it is “only” a disc instead of a half-sphere or one way or another completely covered.
