In August 2025, a total of 198 references passed through the charity when this month saw 69 in the previous year. For this year, January had 84 references, February 94, March 128, April 163, May 147, June 172 and July 165.
“It is particularly difficult for people looking to play the game to earn money for their daily household costs, who continue to feel in a hurry by the increase in pressure,” continued Kathy Wade.
“We know that many people play safely, but we will not encourage anyone to play in order to earn additional money to cover their essential invoices.”
