Mandalore’s world has a long and complicated story Star WarsAnd perhaps even more complicated than the history of the wars of its peoples between them are their united wars against a common enemy: the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order which served it. But apart from allusions and works of art, the history of what defined these conflicts has become largely intact in the contemporary Star Wars Continuity, while the emphasis returned to the restoration of Mandalore to the post-imperial era. In the old cannon of the enlarged universe, however, the Mandalorians have cut a decisive path through the galaxy – in a series of wars that would reshape the Jedi and the old Republic forever.

Mandalore’s forge

The history of the Mandalorian crusades is defined, in part, by the creation of the Mandalorian people. In the EU, the roots of the Mandalorians were with a species called talent: from the humanoids originally native to coruscant, they were sent from their native world after a conflict with the other indigenous civilization of the planet, the Zhell. The taung has finally moved to the world that would become baptized as Mandalore for their chief, Mandalore the first, adopting their new name as Mandalorians, the sons and daughters of Mandalore in the fashionable language.

Almost immediately after the creation of Mandalore, the Mandalorians sent warriors to nomadic crusades to subjugate the neighboring worlds and widen the influence of the Mandalorian. More than three thousand years, generations of Mandalorian crusades pushed from the outside edge in the fringes of the Republic, establishing an increasing pocket of Mandalorian space.

But things would change under the direction of Mandalore Indomitable. Pushed by a religious experience on the world of Shogun, Mandalore the high indomitable conflict itself as a divine pillar of Mandalorian society. Under the reign of the indomitable, the Mandalorian aggression has become a serious galactic threat while the crusades grow more and more deeply in the galactic nucleus, the Mandalorian space finally encompassing the worlds practically at the door of the ancestral house of the Coruscant taung by 4000 Bby, 3 millennia after the establishment of the Mandalore.

In the hope of exploiting a fragile political situation in the Entrato system of Teta, which had itself been locked in civil wars and interventionist conflicts with the forces supported by the Republic in the middle of the rise of a dark cult known as Krath, Mandalore the Indomitable has led a new crusade in the Tetan space. The raids of the crusaders attracted the attention of Ulic Qel-Droma, a fallen Jedi who had been cajolé on the dark side while trying to infiltrate the Krath, who disputed Mandalore indicated it to a duel in 3996 BBY, with the seven worlds of the Empress Teta system, and the military power of the Krath and Mandalorian forces, at stake.

Mandalore Indomitable has lost. Santered by Qel-Droma to refuse him an honorable death, Qel-Droma attracted victory to bring the Mandalorians to his services by the grip of Mandalore. With the Mandalorians on their side, Qel -Droma and his colleague lord of war, the Sith Lord Exar Kun, were ready to launch a new Sith Empire – and with him, plunging the Galaxy in the total war.

The Great War of the Sith would last only one year, even with the powerful help of the Mandalorians. The Indomitable and his Crusaders were largely absent from the turn of the conflict to Ossus, where a defeated Droma Qel was cut off after killing his own brother and went to the Jedi and the Republic – instead, Qel -Droma had charged the Mandalorians with an invasion of Onderon. Locked in a slow impasse with the inhabitants, the arrival of reinforcements of the Republic on the world finally pushed Mandalore to ask a retreat from one of the Onderonian moons, Dxun. But the indomitable was shot down and forced to land in the jungles of the Moon, where he was devoured by animals.

The Mandalorian people found themselves on a precipice. The Great War of the Sith had considerably reduced the Mandalorian population, still descended from the taung which had founded its world three thousand years earlier. The Mandalorian who found the mask of the Indomitable and has noted importance as the next Mandalore – which is known as the Mandalore the ultimate. Not only does the reunition of the remaining clans after having established its front base on Dxun as a field of training for the Mandalorian warriors, Mandalore the ultimate, itself a talent, began the process of opening the Mandalorian company, recruiting members of a band of other species that have submitted to their code of honor. He also instituted a policy of the Mandalorians occupying and adding worlds to the growing rule of Mandalore, rather than simply looting them, creating a backbone of worlds which could support a war industry.

More than 20 years, Mandalore in the ultimate time to rethink his people, just as the Jedi and the Republic restored the damage caused during the Great War of the Sith. In the end, partially influenced in open conflict with the Republic by an emissary operating in the name of the Empire of the Sith hidden vitiate, but also motivated by his own desire to test both the Republic and the renewed Mandalorians, Mandalore called his neo-CRUSArs in a new crusade in 3976 BBY. But the forces of Mandalore did not immediately jumped into the battle in the galactic nucleus: the Mandalorians spent years choosing territories in the outside edge on the sidelines of the Republic, taking worlds and exterminating millions, but just far from the Republic so as not to provoke a response from the Senate.

It took a Mandalorian encroachment near the world of Taris, an external edge world which had become a crucial hub of trade in the re -expansion of the Republic after the Great War of Sith, so that the Republic takes note. Refunding the defenses and engaging in skirmishes with the neo-crusade forces around Taris and its local systems, the Republic and the Mandalorians spent a year engaged in a false war before Mandalore seriously started the conflict in 3964 BBY. In what became known as “the assault”, the Mandalorian forces crossed the lines of defense of Republic, besieging the mining world of Vanquo as well as Taris himself, while the Mandalorians launched devastating and brutal attacks against the worlds like Onderon and Serroco.

But throughout the false war, another important conflict had been in the Republic itself. A young Jedi began to make waves in order, pleading for a Jedi intervention on a galactic scale to prevent the conflict with the Mandalorians from decomposing into a full war. The adoption of Revanchism – replenishment of the territory taken by the Mandalorians – the young Jedi finally established their own movement in order, swinging more and more Jedi to their beliefs at the request of the Grand Council, who continued to rule that the Jedi had no place in the military plans of the Republic.

Although the Council dispatches the revanchists on the missions during the first phases of the war, and the Republic itself ended more and more in the interest of the rise of a Jedi crusader who was willing to fight the Mandalorians, finally the Revanchists and their leader would break entirely from the Jedi Council on the planet Cathar. An external edge world outside the space of the Republic, Cathar had been one of the first worlds of the region invaded by Mandalore the forces of the ultimate, leading to the quasi-extinction of the Cathar people. Invited to investigate the devastation of the world, the Revanchists discovered through the force the truth of the extermination of the Mandalorian of the Cathar – with their leader, now taking the coat of Revan, swearing to fight until the Mandalorians are defeated.

The discovery of Cathar’s genocide prompted the Jedi Council to approve Revan and the official support of their supporters in the Army of the Republic. First acting the Mercy Corps, an ostensible division of the support team and the healers, the Revanchists quickly became key generals and warriors of the war. Even if the Mandalorians began to push more and more deeply, the intervention of the Jedi Revanchist would contribute to turning the trend in favor of the Republic, Revan being finally appointed Supreme Commander of the Army of the Republic by 3962.

After years to repel the Mandalorians later in their own space, Revan attracted the Mandalorians to a major conflict on the world of Malachor V. While Revan is duels and kills in Malachore the ultimate aboard the Mandalorian Flagship, Revanchist Forces has activated an experimental super-arma known under the name of massive generator, gravitational. Tray the vessels of the Republic and the Mandalorian and slaming them on the surface of the world below them, the mass shadow generator brought Malachor V to a horrible cataclysm, overflowing the planet and killing tens of thousands.

With the death of Mandalore, the ultimate – and the hiding place by Revan of the Mandalore mask, refusing to the Mandalorian people the traditional path to a new unifying leader – and the loss of life of Malachor V, the last of the great Mandalorian crusades ended with the surviving Mandalorians offering an unjust nest to the Republic. Revan has ordered that the Mandalorians are stripped of their weapons, armor and military material, a tactic, combined with the disappearance of the Mandalore mask, which has fractured the Mandalorian clans into marginal groups which fight between them for power, dispersing through the Galaxy.

It would take years to the retirement of the Mandalore mask, leading to the age of a new Mandalor, preserver, who would work over time with Jedi and the forces of the Republic to fight against the threat of the Sith in the decade after the end of the Mandalorian wars. But Revan’s victory at Malachor V prepared the field for an equally devastating conflict to come: deviating the rules of the Jedi council to return to Coruscant for their role in the loss of horrible in Malachor, Revan and his close ally Malak took the mass of the Jedi Revanchist in the unknown regions, after indices given to Revan by Mandalore in his discounted residents. To find the hidden empire of the Sith who had also helped to push the Mandalorians to attack the Republic in the first place, Revan and Malak were corrupt and broken by submitting to the dark side … by preparing the ground again for their order for an invasion of the galaxy by the Sith.
