Oliver Glasner says that Crystal Palace has checked their objectives for the season with the “huge achievement” of the qualification for the conference league.

The goal of Jean-Philippe Mateta was sufficient to see the Norwegian team Fredrikstad and ensure European football until the new year for the Eagles.

The Glasner team was not for their best, but extended an undefeated race in all competitions at 13 – equaling the longest in their history as a high -flying side.

“It’s a huge success to enter the group phase,” Glasner told Channel 5. “It was our second goal of the season and we reached it at the end of August, which is great.

“The first was to win the community shield – what we did – and now, with all the sound of being demoted to the conference league, we did it too.

“We have defended a lot and did not give them a chance, but on the other hand, we know that we can and must play better in possession, but overall, it is important to be in the group phase.”

In the aim of Friday, Glasner added: “I have a press conference in the morning and we train in the afternoon because we return late to the house.

“We will watch Aston Villa to be prepared (for the Premier League match on Sunday), so I think someone will tell me who are the opposition teams, but it is not important for me because we are starting (the conference league) on October 2 and now Villa is in my mind.”
