The “Shin Godzilla” version in black and white finally obtains an American theatrical version

Released in Japan in 2023 as part of a selected theatrical reissue of Godzilla Films organized by Minus one Takashi Yamazaki director to celebrate Godzilla70th anniversary, Orthochromatic was designed by Anno and Higuchi, the latter working with the associate director Katsuro on his production. The name is derived from the inspiration for the variety of the monochrome film which is drawn, in contrast to the panchromatic film in black and white, leading to a clearer contrast and to deeper black levels.

Although published on physical media in Japan last year, the new version marks the first time Orthochromatic has already received a theatrical version nationally in the United States, the liberation model follows Minus oneis also specific to theatrical race in the United States.
