The White House triggers the CDC director as other officials resign

The White House says that she dismissed the director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Susan Monarez, after refusing to resign on Wednesday.
In a statement, he said that she was “not aligned with the president’s agenda” and that she had been withdrawn from her post at the Health Agency.
The American Health Department announced earlier its departure, which prompted a declaration by Dr. Monarez lawyers who said that it had not been informed of its dismissal and that it would not resign.
They said that she was targeted for refusing “non -scientific, reckless imprint directives and health experts dedicated to fire” and accused the secretary of health Robert F Kennedy Jr of “Public Health”.
“While the declaration of his lawyer is clearly clear, Susan Monarez is not aligned on the agenda of the president,” said the White House later on Wednesday, adding that she had been dismissed from her post as director.
A longtime federal government scientist, Dr. Monarerez was appointed by President Donald Trump to lead the CDC and was confirmed during a vote in the Senate according to party parties in July.
His appointment followed Trump by withdrawing his first choice, the former member of the Republican Congress Dave Weldon, who had been criticized for his point of view on vaccines and autism.
Almost immediately after the announcement of Dr. Monarez’s departure by the Health Department, at least three senior CDC managers resigned from the agency.
Among them was the chief doctor Debra Houry, who warned against the “climb of disinformation” of vaccines in a letter seen by the American partner of the BBC CBS News. She also immersed herself against the planned discounts of the agency’s budget.
Daniel Jernigan, who directed the national center for emerging and zoonotic infectious diseases, also ceased to quote “the current context of the department”.
National Center Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, Demeter Daskalakis, also said that he was no longer able to serve “due to public health armaments”.
There are also reports, notably by NBC News, that Dr. Jennifer Layden, director of the Office of Public Health, Surveillance and Technology, has also resigned.
The exodus comes as health experts care about the agency’s approach in terms of vaccinations under the direction of Kennedy, a vaccine skeptic.
Earlier Wednesday, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved new ceremony vaccines while limiting that could receive them.
Vaccines will be available for all seniors, but young adults and children without underlying health problems will be excluded.
“Emergency usage authorizations for Cèvres vaccines, formerly used to justify large mandates on the general public during the Biden administration, are now canceled,” Kennedy wrote on X.
Dr. Monarrez was the first CDC director in 50 years not to have a medical diploma. Its history is in infectious disease research.
During her month as CDC chief, she helped comfort the agency employees after the CDC headquarters in Atlanta was attacked by a shooter who thought he was injured by coids.
The attack, in which hundreds of balls hit the building, killed a police officer.
Earlier this month, current and former employees of the agency wrote an open letter accusing Kennedy of having fueled violence against health workers with his anti-vaccine rhetoric.
Dr. Monarrez’s departure occurs about a week after a union representing CDC employees announced that around 600 CDC employees had been dismissed.
Large -scale layoffs included employees working on government’s response to infectious diseases, including bird flu, as well as those looking for environmental risks and the management of public file requests.
