The Z generation abandons mass degrees and the jobs of landing trade. They find themselves in six -digit careers that exploit their desires for more trips and less time at an office, without any student debt.

But everything that shines is not gold. Many of these jobs include their own risks.

Take for example wind-turbine technicians. It was the fastest growth in the United States last year and does not require a diploma. But the work is far from easy: technicians face extreme time, transport 50 pounds of equipment and ride high ladders in tight spaces.

Despite the buzz, the surest degree role is still at an office.

Research by Yijin Hardware has analyzed jobs based on fatal injury rates, projected openings (2023 to 2033), median wages and education requirements – and to come to No. 1 is roles of administration and support from the Office.

These roles offer a lower physical risk, coherent demand and decent wages, which makes them particularly attractive for the Zers generation looking for stability without diploma.

According to research, the 5 safest jobs of 2025 which do not require a diploma are as follows:

  1. Office support and administrator
  2. Production workers
  3. Installation and repair
  4. Construction and extraction
  5. Transport and movement of materials

“Safe” office jobs can be a time bomb

The entry -level office jobs in the administrator and support can always be the safest bet for the non -gradual generation at the moment, but unfortunately for them, they could start to dry.

Even highly educated students are currently “without work” because employers are launching a “waiting strategy” in the midst of AI progress and economic uncertainty. Graduates of the United Kingdom have faced the worst labor market since 2018 while employers have caused hiring and use AI to reduce costs, warns. Companies like Intel, IBM and Google have frozen thousands of new roles that AI should take over over the next 5 years.

And entry -level roles, such as Office Admin, are among the first to be reduced.

In the Carlyle global investment company, the previous levels of input level which evaluated the offers used to turn to Google for the items and request documents manually. Now the work is in the course of AI, and the company turns to hiring junior level employees which can ensure that the work is correct.

CEOs also iterated their job strategy. Bill Balderaz, CEO of the consulting company based in Columbus, said The Wall Street Journal He decided not to hire a summer intern.

Despite the opposite winds, research provides 19,000 new jobs in the sector during the next decade – less than the 63,000 predicted transportation opportunities, but always more than in repair or in construction (between 11,000 and 15,000).

“Dangerous” commercial jobs

Commercial jobs have a moment. Presented as the more intelligent and safer alternative to too expensive “unrelevant” degrees and (in danger of being automated) jobs in entry -level collar, around 78% of Americans say they have noticed a peak in young people who turn to jobs such as carpentry, electric work and welding, according to a Harris 2024 ballot. They are not mistaken. Trade registrations have really increased after pandemic, or even beyond university inscriptions.

But the new research suggests that reality is not as stable – or also to the test of future – as it is presented.

The Yijin equipment has found that the commercial jobs are among the most “dangerous” the most dangerous for non-gradations, the telescope, hunting, fishing and waste have the highest death rates during employment, associated with unpredictable working conditions and limited opportunities. Not a single entry -level office work has made the lower ranking of their list.

This is not the first study to suggest that generation Z can examine manual work through rose tinged glasses. According to another new Wallethub study, the ranking of the best and the worst entry -level American jobs in 2025, commercial roles dominate the bottom of the list. Welders, automotive mechanisms, drivers and editors are all classifying among the least promising beginners of career.

According to the researchers, these roles were badly obtained due to the limited availability of jobs and the low growth potential, as well as their potentially dangerous nature.

“Although commercial work is not as easy to automate as certain office jobs, new technologies such as prefabrication and robotics are starting to regain parts of the workload, which can reduce demand,” said Wallethub analyst Chip Lupo Fortune. They are not safe from mass dismissals either and at the mercy of interest rates and demand.

And even worse, more often than not, many commercial jobs may not make you happier than office work. Another study classified electricians as the least happy workers of all. According to research, the physically demanding nature of work and the weeks of work of more than 40 hours were not offset by the just “decent” salary. Perhaps surprising, not a single commercial work has listed the happiest jobs.
