Three swimmers killed by sea mines in Odesa, Ukrainian media report

According to the Ukrainian media, two men and a woman were killed by the sea mines while swimming in Odesa.
A local official confirmed that the three had been killed by “explosive devices”, on beaches close to Zatoka, where recreational swimming is prohibited.
The Black Sea has long been a popular vacation destination in Ukraine, but many of its beaches have been deemed dangerous since the large -scale invasion of Russia.
Officials have urged the holiday fires not to swim in prohibited waters.
Witnesses declared at the local Dumskaya exit that the explosions had taken place at 11:30 am (9:30 am BST) Sunday between Karolino-Buhaz and Zatoka.
“All were killed by explosive devices while swimming in areas prohibited for leisure,” confirmed the regional governor Oleh Kiper.
“This proves once again that being in uncontrolled waters is fatally dangerous.”
Police said they have not yet confirmed the identity of swimmers and warned visitors “not to neglect security measures.”
“It was previously determined that three vacationers – a woman and two men – died swimming following two explosions of unknown objects. The identities of the deceased are established,” said the police report.
Thirty-two areas are safe for swimming, with 30 of them located in Odesa, according to the authorities.
