TikTok said it is in the process of restoring operations in the US on Sunday, after President-elect Trump promised to issue an order to increase TikTok’s operations on. Opening Day.

“Welcome back!” the TikTok message read. “Thank you for your patience and support. Thanks to the efforts of President Trump, TikTok is back in the US!”

Earlier on Sunday, Trump posted on TRUTH Social that he is “asking companies not to let TikTok go dark!”

“I will issue an executive order on Monday to extend the moratorium on this law so that we can build an agreement to protect our national security,” the president-elect said. “This law will also ensure that there will be no liability for any company that has helped TikTok to stay out of the dark before I start ordering.”

“The American people should see our wonderful Inauguration on Monday, as well as other events and talks,” Trump said.

Trump is expected to be sworn in at noon ET Monday at the US Capitol, taking office as the 47th president.

His statement on Sunday did not make clear how the expansion would begin or how long it would last.

Regarding the national security agreement, Mr. Trump said he wants “the United States to have 50% ownership in the agreement.”

“By doing this, we save TikTok, keep it in good hands and allow it (to remain). Without US permission, there is no TikTok. With our approval, it is worth billions of dollars – maybe trillions,” Trump. he wrote. “Therefore, my initial proposal is a deal between the current owners and/or new owners where the US gets 50% ownership in a joint venture between the US and any acquisitions we choose.”

TikTok’s account on X, dedicated to issuing legal updates, wrote a statement later on Sunday: “In cooperation with service providers, TikTok is preparing to restore operations.”

“We thank President Trump for providing information and assurance to our donors that they will not face any penalties for providing TikTok to more than 170 million Americans and allowing more than 7 million small businesses to thrive,” he said. “I am a strong advocate of the First Amendment and against unrelenting surveillance. We will work with President Trump on a long-term solution that keeps TikTok in the United States.”

The following message appeared for users who tried to use the TikTok app earlier on Sunday: “Sorry, TikTok is not available right now. The law banning TikTok has been implemented in the US. Unfortunately, that means you can’t use TikTok. for now.”
