New West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo says he is “too early” to assess the performances of his team after a 1-1 draw in Everton.

Nuno replaced Graham Potter on the weekend and saw West Ham find himself in a powerful head of Michael Keane.

But his team improved well in the second half, equalizing by the cornerstone of Jarrod Bowen.

The former Forestier Director of Nottingham said: “It was a difficult game and we competed well. There are positive points and negatives, but today it was to compete in a team and be close to each other, this is a good first match for us.

“The goal we have conceded, we should have been more aggressive, but in the second half, we defended. It all starts from there.

“Things will naturally come if we do the right steps forward.

“It is too early to have too many analyzes on my team. There is a lot to improve, we have to know the players better.

“The message was clear, each ball counts.”

Everton’s boss, David Moyes, was frustrated that his team could not rely on the opening of Keane by seeing them conceded a premier league goal in their new stadium for the first time.

“We sometimes played decent things, we had a goal, but we couldn’t get one that would have been important,” he said.

“We did a lot of good things, but we just couldn’t achieve a chance to get a second goal. Once we haven’t understood, West Ham grew up with confidence and believing that they could get something themselves. ” Some good things and others not so good, but West Ham has talented players, so it was always going to be a difficult game for us. »»
