Trump appoints the former animator of Fox Tammy Bruce as a UN ambassador

US President Donald Trump has appointed the spokesperson for the State Department and former Fox News host, Tammy Bruce, as United Nations US deputy representative.
In an article on Truth Social, Trump said that Bruce, who has worked in the US State Department since he took office in January, has done a “fantastic work” in the role.
Before joining the government, Bruce has been a conservative contributor to Fox News for over 20 years and is the author of several books who criticize the Liberals, notably “Fear himself: exhibiting the agenda of the left”.
We do not know when she takes up the role if her appointment is confirmed by the Senate.
“I am happy to announce that I note Tammy Bruce, a great patriot, a television personality and a successful author, as the next assistant representative of the United States to the United Nations, with the rank of ambassador,” Trump wrote in an article on Truth Social on Saturday.
“Since the start of my second term, Tammy has been with distinction as spokesperson for the State Department, where she has done fantastic work,” he continued, adding that she will represent the United States “brilliantly”.
As a spokesman, Bruce defended several controversial decisions of the United States’s foreign policy-ranging from the repression of Trump’s immigration to sending private military entrepreneurs to distribute Gaza aid.
Trump’s candidate for the UN ambassador, Mike Waltz, has not yet been confirmed by the Senate.
The current interim ambassador to the UN is Dorothy Shea, a career diplomat who was the assistant ambassador in 2024.
