Large and small technological companies now find it difficult to extend with technology without telling you how much it will cost, or – if you can even buy it. The IFA 2025 technical conference still underway in Berlin has proven how tense the shipment of technology is more tenuous than in recent decades. From what I saw and heard on the ground and out of the ground, it has become clear that the era of abundant, affordable and cool shit will be based in favor of an era of dull and increasingly expensive technology.

IFA’s timing lands in early September so that technological companies have the opportunity to promote their products before the holiday rush. It is a big conference for European and Asian companies, especially those that focus on Smart Home Tech. For us, journalists, IFA is also an opportunity to dive into strange and eccentric products which may or may not float in the United States on the other side of the pond.

This year, the annual conference took a different tenor. The IFA came for months after the American prices wreaks havoc with prices on existing products. Future devices will not only be more expensive; More and more companies have indicated that they retain shipment to the United States or that Uncle Sam, until things change. It was as if the sly smile of each professional of public relations hid a single word – price – disabled but never completely pronounced between their teeth.

American policies let us guess the price and availability

Some international technology giants bearing really unique products are completely excluded from states. DJI, the best known company for drones, has gently found equipment importation into the United States, there is a long history with DJI and the American market, but the end result is that the Americans are locked by an entire product range. At IFA, DJI had its new OSMO 360 camera proudly. You can access the DJI Store page now, and it currently says “out of stock” if you connect from the American DJI, store availability is planned for the rest of this year, but in the United States will not be able to buy it easily. At least Insta360 and its 360 -degree A1 antigravity camera drone still get an American launch.

Some technological companies have managed to cajolate President Donald “I am not a dictator” Trump by experiencing praise and glazing gold statues on the head -in commander in chief. Companies that have not embraced the ring are found outside. At IFA, we have verified several new Roborock products, including a new Robo lawn mower and a washing / dryer combo with a dog door for a Robovac. Neither come to the United States in the immediate future, society told us. The United States easily has the highest demand for lawn mowers in the world.

Again and again, I questioned companies about the prices and availability of the United States, and I was told that they did not have these details available, at least not yet. Companies like Anker, Mova and Drene have designed their own mixture of robotic combinations for Robovacs to help them climb the stairs. The Eufy Marwalker, Drene Cyberx and Mova Zeus 60 should be around next year. No, of course, there is no suggested price. Do you want more eccentric gadgets? Damage. Kata Friends of Switchbot, a family “pet” propelled by the AI which looks like a teddy bear filled with several sensors, still has no price or availability for American consumers. The company would simply not suggest when its products will ever come to the United States

This does not mean that this was the case with all the technologies at the show. There are many new gadgets, such as these sustainable bose headphones, the updated withings scanwatch 2, the main power banks of Anker, and the Massive X1 nebula will come to American companies is more hesitant than ever to mention the prices. The new QM9K TV from TCL should be available “later this month”, but the company refused to provide an idea of Price, which is perhaps the most important element of a renowned budget television brand.

The PC market looked terrible in IFA 2025

Unlike CES, companies do not have to come to Ifa if they hope to cause a sensation. It is not a sure sign that there are internal or external difficulties. But in conversations with businesses, it is clear that the only answer they have at Trump prices is to delay the release or obscure of prices. Asus launched several laptops at IFA 2024. The company told Gizmodo that he jumped the 2025 show. It was not entirely true, however. The brand centered on Asus’ Game – Republic of Gamers – has made a corner stand space at the back of one of the rooms with two ASUS Rogx Ally X labor computers. The company has always refused to say how much it would cost. There is a reason why customers should be worried.

Pocket computers are one of the fastest and most innovative markets for games and PCs. At IFA, a company has promised an ordinary portable hybrid with a stereoscopic 3D screen similar to the Nintendo 3DS. While we have seen more pocket computers at CES 2025, the situation after the prices is much more tenuous. Lenovo’s Legion Go 2 was ready to hit a home run with his OLED screen. Then we saw the price. Lenovo said the laptop would start $ 1,050. Things are worse when you look at the real costs. A version of the pocket computer with the high -end processor, the Ryzen Z2 Extreme AMD starts at $ 1,350. The original Legion requested $ 700 at the launch at the end of 2023.

Few people want to spend more than $ 1,000 on a device with only marginal performance gains. It does not increase well for the Xbox X ally, which contains the same Ryzen Z2 extreme chip. We also hoped to see Acer finally abandon the details on his computers in Nitro Blaze 7 and Nitro Blaze 11. While the pocket computer has already been on sale in various countries in Asia, Europe and the Middle East, Acer told me that he had “no update for us on pocket computers”. Acer was also not willing to share any price for his next laptops, such as the SWIFT 16 Ultra-Léger.

Technological companies can take a waiting strategy, but there is no sign that Trump will put an end to his love story with import taxes, at least for these American companies who did not want to abandon participation in their business – like Intel – or follow Nvidia’s route and be trapped to accept still impartable requirements. Trump’s fascist trends are naturally based on industry, but those who cannot or (more and more rarely) will not give themselves to Trump will simply have to avoid the United States and its many consumers eager for gadgets. No one knows how it all will shake, but American users will better get used to keeping their aging equipment much longer.
