President Donald Trump told Ukraine to give up the hope of recovering the annexed Crimea or joining NATO when he was about to welcome President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European Washington leaders on Monday afternoon.

After deploying the Russian president’s red carpet Vladimir Putin in Alaska, the comments made by Trump on social networks on Sunday evening suggested that he would press Zelenskyy hard at the meeting on Monday to end the deadliest war in Europe in 80 years.

Zelenskyy “can end the war with Russia almost immediately, if he wants, or he can continue to fight,” Trump said on Truth Social. “Remember how it started. No Crimea recovery given by Obama (12 years ago, without having been dismissed!), And not to enter NATO through Ukraine.”

Crimea, recognized by most countries as a Ukrainian territory since the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, was annexed by Russia in 2014, during the presidency of Barack Obama.

Meanwhile, the war that killed tens of thousands of rages, while Russia launched missiles and drones in night attacks that killed seven people in Kharkiv, two of whom were children, said officials.

“They struck a building of ordinary buildings; many apartments, many families lived here, small children, children’s playgrounds, residential compound. There are no offices here or something else, we have lived here peacefully in our homes,” said Olena Yakusheva, a local resident, while firefighters were fighting on a flame in the building and Rubbles.

In addition, a Russian attack on the Ukrainian city south-eastern Zaporizhzhia killed three people and injured 20, the regional governor of the city said.

On the battlefield, Russia has slowly climbed, supporting its advantages in men and firepower at home.

‘The whole world looks’

The White House declared that Trump will first meet Zelenskyy at 1:15 p.m., then about two hours later, the leaders of Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Finland, the European Union and NATO, who fly to Washington to be solidarity with Ukraine and to put pressure on solids in any stage.

Ukraine and its allies have been feared for a long time that Trump could support a favorable agreement in Moscow. However, they have taken heart to certain developments, including Trump’s apparent will to provide post-establishment security guarantees for Ukraine.

On Sunday, European leaders received a call with Zelenskyy to align themselves with a joint strategy for meetings with Trump.

“It is probably not an exaggeration to say that the whole world turns to Washington,” said German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, during a press briefing.

In an interview with Fox News shortly after the Putin summit, Trump said that the “European nations … should get a little involved”.

However, Zelenskyy has already rejected Putin’s plan for the Alaska meeting, including Ukraine renounces the rest of its eastern Donetsk region, of which it currently controls a quarter. Ukrainian forces are deeply dug in Donetsk, whose cities and hills serve as a crucial defensive zone to thwart Russian attacks.

Zelenskyy is also looking for an immediate cease-fire to conduct deeper peace talks. Trump had previously supported this, but reversed the course after the summit with Putin and indicated support for the privileged approach of Russia aimed at negotiating a complete agreement while the fight against rumbles.

The Ukrainian president said that after his arrival in Washington on Sunday, he was grateful to Trump for the invitation.

“We also want to put an end to this war quickly and reliably,” Zelenskyy said on the Telegram messaging application. “Russia must end this war – the war that it started. And I hope that our strength shared with America and with our European friends will force Russia to real peace.”

Rocky Us-Ukraine relationship

Ukraine’s urgent need for weapons and sharing American intelligence, some of which have no viable alternative, forced Zelenskyy and his allies to work with Trump.

Relations between Kyiv and Washington, formerly extremely close, have been rocky since Trump returned to the White House in January. Zelenskyy seeks to avoid a rehearsal of the abstract in bad mood in Washington which was held in February, where he was reprimanded by Trump, JD Vance and a journalist of a right -wing wired network.

Two weeks earlier, the Secretary in the United States of Defense, Pete Hegseth, seemed to underestimate that Kyiv could hold in future talks, saying that it was not realistic for Ukraine to return to its borders before 2014 and that adhesion to NATO for Ukraine would not be part of a peace agreement.

Putin tells Trump “ next time in Moscow ”, no agreement is concluded

President Donald Trump said there was a very good chance of “getting there” to end the war in Ukraine after his summit with Russian president Vladimir Putin. Putin also launched the idea that Trump went to Moscow for a follow -up meeting.

Trump has come up with the 2024 campaign campaign campaign on the number of military services in the administration of the predecessor Joe Biden provided in Ukraine, even if a large part of the expenses benefited American military entrepreneurs. The Trump administration has not engaged any new Ukrainian funding in its recent budget bill, in place of an agreement for European countries to buy American manufacturing weapons.

During his first presidential term, Trump was dismissed in 2019 by the House of Representatives after it was revealed that he tried to enlist Zelenskyy, then during his first weeks as president of Ukraine, in a program that would lead Biden. Trump was acquitted by the Senate, but during the indictment process, continued to allege that Ukraine got involved in the 2016 US elections to help Democrat Hillary Clinton to win, who was rejected by intelligence experts as conspiracy theory.
