President Donald Trump said on Friday that the alleged shooter of the conservative political activist Charlie Kirk was in detention.
“I think that with a high degree of certainty, we have it in detention,” said Trump in an interview on Fox News.
“I think we are in great shape,” he said. “He is in detention.”
“Essentially, someone who was very close to him returned him,” added Trump.
The remarks made less than an hour before the law enforcement officials were about to hold a press conference on their human hunting for the assassin who killed Fatally Kirk on Wednesday at an outdoor event at Utah Valley University.
