Tyra Banks is opening up about losing her home in Los Angeles.
The supermodel, 51, revealed on Monday, January 20, on an Australian morning show Sunrise that he is among the famous people whose house was burnt down destructive fire which started on January 7.
Banks said he is a friend, a businessman Louis Belanger-Martinhe learned the sad news while in Australia, where he divides his time when he is not in the US
“I lost my house,” said the former America’s Next Top Model shared with them. “I haven’t really talked about it, but, yeah, I have.” I didn’t want to draw too much attention to myself. I feel like there are a lot of people who need that attention, so I haven’t really talked about it, but I can’t be here without saying the truth that, yeah, our house is lost.
Banks went on to say, “We were at our friend’s house here and we were celebrating and having fun.” I kept checking my phone, not my house, but my friends and family, making sure they left with everything. And then I asked my friend, I was like, ‘I see something here, what do you think?’ and he (he shook his head). And I just pulled it together and I didn’t say anything to my friends and I just sat there, then we went home and we cried and we had our moment.”
Banks said that he and Bélanger-Martin split their time between Australia and New York, so most of his assets are safe. “Most of these memories are here and in New York, so I haven’t lost that, thank you,” he said. “There are memories that we lost … it’s hard.”
Fueled by Santa Ana’s strong winds and dry weather, the wildfires destroyed dozens of homes, displaced residents of Los Angeles, and killed at least 25 people. According to Associated Pressthe fire burned 63 kilometers away.
Stars included Spencer Pratt and Heidi Monday, Paris Hilton and Billy Crystal their houses were also destroyed by fire.
“I didn’t know what to do,” Montag he said Us Weekly Wednesday, January 15, about the moment he realized he and his family had escaped the out-of-control fire burning in Pacific Palisades. “Nothing could have prepared me for that … You can’t wrap your head around it. “I don’t have any pictures,” Montag said. “I have all the pictures I made of Spencer before there was Instagram and TikTok and the iPhone. These pictures (that) I won’t have anymore. All these things are gone, you know?”
