At least three people were killed and more than 30 injured in a “massive” Russian air attack against Ukraine, President Volodyr Zelensky said.

He says that the regions across the country were targeted as part of a “deliberate strategy” to “intimidate civilians and destroy our infrastructure”, with a direct missile reported in a residential building.

Ukraine said Moscow said Moscow launched 619 drones and missiles. The Ministry of Defense of Russia claims that its “massive strike” used “precision weapons” and targeted industrial military facilities.

In addition, Russia says four people were killed in a Ukrainian drone attack on the Saratov region. Kyiv says he hit a large oil refinery there.

Ukraine also affirms that another Russian oil refinery has been damaged in the neighboring region of Samara.

The BBC has not been able to independently check the claims made by both sides at war.

Cross -border drone raids have become an important characteristic of war. In July, a sustained Ukrainian drone attack forced the temporary closure of all Moscow airports.

kyiv has systematically targeted Russian oil and other key industrial installations, which play a key role in the continuous war effort of Russia in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Moscow has degenerated its air attacks against Ukraine in recent weeks, while kyiv and its Western allies-including the United States-continue to request a cease-fire.

Earlier this month, the main building of the government was affected in the Ukrainian capital kyiv by what Ukraine said they were a Russian Iskander cruise missile.

Zelensky said on Saturday that he planned to meet US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (Unga), which takes place in New York next week.

Trump welcomed Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska last month, hoping to conclude an agreement on the end of the conflict. No agreement of this type has been concluded.

Putin launched a large -scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

The last Russian air attack occurs one day after Estonia asked for urgent consultations with other NATO members after the Russian jets violated its airspace – staying there for 12 minutes before being intercepted.

Russia has denied having violated Estonian airspace.

Tensions have recently increased after Poland and Romania – the two NATO members – said Russian drones had violated their airspace earlier this month.
