The staff of the American border patrol shot an armed woman in Chicago on Saturday, said the American department of internal security, as the governor of Illinois said that the Trump administration planned to federate and deploy hundreds of national guard in the state.

The woman was killed after dozens of demonstrators faced federal immigration agents on the southwest side of Chicago.

No law enforcement agent was seriously injured in the incident in which a group included the woman struck cars in the vehicles used by American immigration and the application of customs (ICE), a spokesman for the Ministry of Internal Security said in a statement.

The woman, an American citizen who was not identified, went to the hospital, according to the press release. No additional information was immediately available on women’s condition. Ice agents fired pepper spray and rubber bullets loaded as part of heated exchanges with demonstrators on Saturday.

US Interior Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in an article on X that she sent additional “special operations” to control the scene in the Brighton Park district in Chicago.

On several occasions, demonstrators sitting on the ground trying to prevent ice vehicles from transporting prisoners in the installation were pushed by highly armed ice agents using physical strength, chemical ammunition and rubber bullets, evoking combat scenes.

The demonstrators have decried what they call similar police services in other cities led by Democrats, notably New York, Los Angeles, Washington, DC and Portland, Ore.

‘Call your troops, or we will do it’

Also on Saturday, the governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, said that the State National Guard had received a word from the Pentagon in the morning that 300 of its members would be called. He did not specify when or where they were deployed, but President Donald Trump has long threatened to send troops to Chicago.

“This morning, the Ministry of War of the Trump Administration gave me an ultimatum: call your troops, or we will,” said Pritzker in a statement.

“It is absolutely scandalous and non -American to demand that a governor send military troops within our own borders and against our will.”

A spokesperson for the Governor’s office said that she could not provide additional details. The White House and the Pentagon did not answer questions about the Pritzker Declaration.

The Governor of Illinois slams Trump’s threat to deploy the National Guard in Chicago

US President Donald Trump threatened to deploy national guard troops in Chicago to fight crime, but during a press conference on Monday, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker said there was no emergency justifying the deployment of the National Guard and warned that he could continue to have a legal action if Trump takes place.

The climbing of federal police in Illinois follows similar deployments in other parts of the country. Trump deployed the National Guard to Los Angeles during the summer and as part of his takeover of the police in Washington, DC, in the meantime, the troops of the Tennessee National Guard should help the police of Memphis.

California governor Gavin Newsom continued to stop the deployment in Los Angeles and won a temporary block before the Federal Court. The Trump administration appealed to the decision that the use of the guard was illegal, and a panel of three judges from the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in the United States said that it thinks that the government is likely to prevail.

In Oregon, a federal judge also temporarily prevented the Trump administration from deploying troops in Portland.

The American immigration and customs building in the city has recently been the site of night demonstrations, which has generally attracted a few dozen people in recent weeks.

The Ministry of Defense moved to place 200 members of the Oregon National Guard under federal control for 60 days to protect federal goods before an order of the American district judge Karin Immergut has canceled it.

Pritzker described Trump’s move in Illinois a “manufactured performance” which would distance troops from the national guard of the state of their families and regular jobs.

“For Donald Trump, this has never been a matter of security. This is a control,” said the governor, who also noted that state forces, county and local forces were coordinated to ensure the safety of an ice installation on the outskirts of Chicago.
