After more than 10 years, Dolby is ready to put her Dolby Vision Tech in the future that changes the game with (Drum Roll) Dolby Vision 2. As part of the IFA 2025, Dolby took the Wraps of his suite of vision, which brings a range of new capacities in HDR format owner of the company.

Dolby Vision 2 feeding is a brand new engine that allows tools like “content intelligence”. Happy intelligence, as you may have guessed, use the AI to better adapt the image of your television to the content you are watching, of refined aspects not only on What you look but also Or You look at him. In Content Intelligence, there are several more specific tools, including precision blacks that adjust the dark scenes on the fly, which, if it works, is ideal for anyone who likes OLED panels but has reproaches with their performance on darker content.

There is also – and it is quite cool – a light detection technology which, according to Dolby, monitors ambient lighting in your room and can automatically optimize your TV according to lighting in your specific environment. As a person with an unusually dark apartment, I am absolutely for that, although I am curious to know if a technology like this would radically make the brightness of my TV. I wouldn’t be crazy about it, but maybe other people will do it? Finally, there are adjustments to the Dolby Vision management of the rapid content such as live games and sports which are intended to better adjust the control of the movement and the white point, which controls the color temperature of the whites on your screen.

Dolby divides Vision 2 into two levels – Dolby Vision 2 and Dolby Vision 2 Max – and he says that the latter will be available on “highest televisions” and will be delivered with “additional premium functionalities”. Gizmodo contacted Dolby to clarify exactly what is the difference between these two levels. Here is what he said:

“Dolby Vision 2 Max includes capacities designed to unlock complete capacities and the best image quality on the most efficient televisions.

It tells us a little more, I suppose, but from the sounds of this one, Dolby Vision 2 Max will be designed to take advantage of the higher loyalty of expensive televisions, while Dolby Vision 2 is more oriented towards “traditional” televisions, in the words of the company. To start, Dolby says that he will focus on the “general public” side, because he will start to deploy Vision 2 on the hoissense panels, although there is no word on timing and availability yet. He says these hoissense televisions will be fueled by the chipset Mediatek Pentonic 800, however.

It has been 10 years since the release of Dolby Vision during the day, which allowed the televisions to adjust and optimize the content on your scene on the stage or even from the framework and to fill the gap between cinema and home vision. It’s been a long time in progress, but it is not surprising that Dolby Vision 2 is published now, given the progress of AI and their ability to understand the context. More than that, however, Dolby Vision 2 should help better optimize the current and future generations of televisions, who have obviously changed a little since 2014. As always, however, seeing it is so, we will be the judge of this when we can put our eyes on Dolby Vision 2 assisted for ourselves.
