Warner Bros. wants a prequel “of weapons” about this character

Weapons Has not been in theaters per week, but the studio already wants more. The Hollywood Reporter says that he spoke to the writer-director Zach Cregger to make a sort of prequel centered on Aunt Gladys, a crucial and instantly emblematic character of the film played by Amy Madigan.

Congger revealed to Io9 recently that he had, at some point, wrote a chapter centered on Gladys, but finally cut him. “In an earlier version of the script, I had given it its own chapter,” Cregger told iO9. “It was a bit of origin before coming to town. But I realized that it gave too far. It is more obliging not to know some of these things. So I ended up cutting it very early in the writing process. ”

Well, now, Warner Bros. Hope it will transform this story into a complete functionality. No offer is yet in place; These are just talks, but it’s brewing.

Of course, Congger will then make a new resident Evil Film, based on emblematic video game franchise. It is an original story from which it is very excited, but once it has been released, nothing has yet been aligned. As for the film Gladys, Cregger also told IO9 that a large part of the origin of the character and what she was was largely left to Madigan. “I had somewhat an idea of what was going on with her,” he said. “And I spoke with Amy a little, but I also want to respect the Amy’s process. And I want her to appropriate, and I want her to somehow creates her own mythology. So I asked her a few options of what I think could happen.
