West Ham loses again while the postcoglou forest drops more points

Gameweek 5 of the Premier League is underway and there were four kicks in the elite on Saturday.

After Liverpool defeated Everton very early to get brangling rights in the Merseyside derby, attention turned to the other teams in action.

Tottenham struck another stumbling block under Thomas Frank, moving away for Brighton despite a solid beginning of life under the Danish.

Elsewhere, Burnley welcomed the Nottingham Forest of Nottingham of Angel, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Leeds went to the wolves.

Burnley 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Burnley and Nottingham Forest shared the points in a 1-1 draw at Turf Moor.

Visitors have taken a dream start when Nico Williams broke at the house inside two minutes, recording the fastest goal of the Premier League season so far.

Burnley responded halfway through the first half, while Jaidon Anthony continued his good slot race in the equalizer after a chaotic rush in the box.

The second half was from start to finish, the chances falling on both sides. Anthony got closer again a few seconds after restarting, while Chris Wood and Bakwa both tested the Burnley back line.

In the last stages, the forest besieged the goal of the home, but Martin Dubravka produced a series of exceptional backups to refuse Williams, Kalimuendo and Jesus.

West Ham 1-2 Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace extended his undefeated departure from the Premier League with a 2-1 victory against West Ham at London Stadium, leaving the Graham Potter team in search of a first home victory.

Jean-Philippe Mateta opened the scoring in the first half, reacting the fastest after Marc Guehi’s head was placed on the bar.

Jarrod Bowen briefly restored parity at the start of the second half, taking a look at a corner for his second goal from the season championship.

The Eagles quickly regained control, however, while Tyrick Mitchell voted his first goal in the League at home since May 2024 after a defensive confusion.

The sharpness of the palace reflected in the figures, recording 2.14 xg compared to 0.61 from West Ham.

Bowen and Lucas Paqueta got closer, but the Palace resilient background line, which has the best defensive record in the league, held firm.

Wolves 1-3 Leeds

The Wolves fell to a fifth consecutive defeat, remaining at the bottom of the Premier League after a 3-1 home defeat against Leeds United in Molinine.

The hosts made the perfect start when Krejci scored his first high-flying goal in eight minutes, but Leeds responded ruthlessly with three goals before half-time.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalized with a brand back header, before Anton Stach wraps in a superb free kick to put visitors in front.

Just before the break, Stach transformed the supplier, sliding a pass to Noah Okafor, who pierced at home a finish composed to do it 3-1.
