What do Gazans and Israelis think of Trump’s plan?

The Palestinians of Gaza and the Israelis in Jerusalem reacted to the new plan of Donald Trump to end the war between Israel and Hamas, announced on Monday by the American president and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In a cafe in Jerusalem, two Israelis welcomed the plan, but wondered if Hamas would agree to disarm after almost two years of fighting in Gaza.

Meanwhile, in the besieged Palestinian territory, the displaced Gazans asked if their needs had been taken into account and raised concerns about the desire expressed previously of Trump to build stations on the ground.

The new proposal, which would see a “peace council” – directed by Trump – helps to manage a transitional administration in Gaza, aroused the support of leaders in Europe and the Middle East.
