The drawing of the Champions League for the 2025/26 competition will plan the first eight games for the participants.

The defending French champions Paris Saint-Germain will defend the title they won for the first time by beating Inter 5-0 in the 2024/25 final.

The title champions of the Premier League Liverpool and the Arsenal finalists will be joined by Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle and Tottenham as six English drawing teams.

When is the drawing of the Champions League?

The draw will take place on Thursday August 28 – One day after the end of the qualifiers to decide the last teams to qualify.

The drawing ceremony will start at 5:00 p.m. BST / 12:00 and / 09:00 pt.

Champions League format

In a change compared to the previous group phase format produced until 2023/24, each team now has eight games in the league phase, all against different opponents.

Four of these matches will be at home and four, the opponents determined according to four sowing pots divided by classification.
