Everton showed attacking displays not seen this season as they brushed aside Tottenham’s struggles at Goodison Park.
The Toffees scored just 15 goals in their next 20 games in the competition but added three in the first half as Spurs’ struggles continued. Ange Postecoglou’s men scored twice late on but were second in most competitions.
Not for the first time in recent months, the visitors were defensive and Everton were good enough to capitalize. Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave them the lead after 13 minutes and Iliman Ndiaye’s smart man goal extended their lead on the half hour mark.
A goal from Archie Gray in first-half stoppage time effectively ended the game as a contest and, despite Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison pulling back, Everton held on to move four points clear of the relegation zone.
The result will double Postecoglou’s lead as his side are in 15th place, one above Everton.
After the second coming of David Moyes fell down in the middle of the week when Everton was beaten at home by Aston Villa, this was very good from the hosts, who deserved three points.
DCL players with amazing goals
Calvert-Lewin was heavily maligned but showed some brilliant footwork to lead Everton.
Played in by Idrissa Gueye, Calvert-Lewin got inside Gray and passed him before firing past Antonin Kinsky.
Spurs could have taken an early lead, but James Tarkowski made a brilliant save to deny Son Heung-min before Jordan Pickford saved for the South Korean.
Calvert-Lewin showed why his first goal was his first in 17 Premier League games with a bad touch after being cleared, which allowed Kinsky to come out with a strike, and the Czech did well a few minutes later with a smart save, pushing away Gueye’s shot. at the post office.
Everton got a second goal their way after 30 minutes. Ndiaye picked up the ball inside his own half, rose to the goal before fooling Radu Dragusin and firing into the net.

Unfortunately Gray makes it 3-0
Spurs were rocked and it was no surprise when Everton scored again before the break.
Jesper Lindstrom crossed from the right, Tarkowski headed back towards goal, Clavert-Lewin touched and Gray just dropped into his own net.
Postecoglou introduced former Everton striker Richarlison on the stroke of half-time, but it did not change the tone of the game and Calvert-Lewin almost added a fourth from Lindstrom’s cross.
Tottenham pulled one back with 13 minutes to go. Pickford came out to block James Maddison, who picked out Kulusevski, and the Swedish winger made a beautiful chip cut over the defenders.

And it turned out to be exciting when Richarlison turned home Mikey Moore’s fine cross at the far post in stoppage time.
Tottenham couldn’t find the minimum level though.
