It hasn’t even been a day since ByteDance shut down TikTok in the US, and now it’s reportedly making a comeback. In a statement posted on X on Sunday afternoon, TikTok wrote, “In cooperation with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring operations.” The statement also praised Trump, who will be sworn in on Monday and previously said he was considering giving TikTok a boost. (although ByteDance has shown no interest in selling). “We will work with President Trump on a long-term solution that keeps TikTok in the United States,” TikTok said.
At the time of writing this, the TikTok app still supported me even though it showed a message saying “I can’t use TikTok at this time.” CapCut, however, one of the other programs affected by the ban, is not available.
